Hi, I'm Alex
Originally from the UK, I moved to Ontario, Canada 10 years ago so I could start my life with my best friend, now husband... Justin. Together, we have two beautiful boys Edward and William.
After gaining my degree in Fashion Design at a UK university, I went on to work within the fashion industry for a number of years. I have been passionate about my personal health and fitness since recovering from cancer in my late teens and eventually I trained to be a PT so I could help others reach their fitness goals.
I founded my company by accident... after moving to Canada, I needed a focus so I decided to do something completely new and I entered a bodybuilding competition. With my background in fashion, I felt confident that I had the know how and the skills to make my own suit. I loved the process so much, combining my love of fashion, creativity and fitness to create something that I could be proud of. This was the start of Alexandra Corbin Suits and now I feel so lucky that I get to do something I love, every day!
Although I knew what I wanted to do, it wasn't until 2018 following the birth of my first son, Edward that I started exploring competition suit design and production more seriously. Amazingly, it seemed to take off straight way! In 2019 I filed for my business license and was awarded a grant from the Oakville small business center. For the first 4 years, I deliberately had to keep my business small so I could work around raising my young family. The decision to grow our family again was a tough one, not because we didn't want to, but it was clear that the business was picking up momentum and I'd have to continue to keep the business small. William was born in 2021 and it wasn't until September 2022 when I was able to focus more of my time on growing the business. I am more surprised than anyone with what I've achieved so far, and I'm so excited to watch my business grow even more over the next few years.
Honestly, I couldn't do it without you, my beautiful clients. I promise to devote my time, patience and expertise into every suit you order. You've all worked extremely hard to be where you are, and I will stop at nothing to ensure you shine when you strut your stuff on stage.
